UK wealth management firm Evelyn Partners has appointed former HSBC multi-asset manager Kate Morrissey as its new head of asset allocation.
This newly created role places Morrissey in the central investment team, where she will report to chief asset management officer Edward Park.
Morrissey brings 23 years of experience from HSBC, including her tenure as head of the World Selection and Global Strategy funds at HSBC Global Asset Management. In that role, she led portfolio management for £10bn of assets in the HSBC World Selection range and £6bn in its Global Strategy funds.
At Evelyn Partners, Morrissey will lead the macroeconomic and quantitative strategy teams, providing asset allocation recommendations to the tactical asset allocation group. Her role will span Evelyn’s central investment team and tactical asset allocation group, to build consensus on investment decisions and optimising strategies.
She will also work on communicating Evelyn Partners’ asset allocation house view to internal and external stakeholders and establish a team of investment specialists to support this effort.
Morrissey said: “I am looking forward to working alongside Edward Park and the broader team to strengthen our asset allocation process. In partnership with the investment management teams, I am excited to help drive the investment proposition and deliver best-in-class solutions for our clients.”
Park said of Morrissey’s appointment. “Her proven leadership and collegiate style is well aligned with the Evelyn Partners investment process and I look forward to working with Kate to develop our investment approach and establish the investment specialist team.”
